Sniper School

Basic/Intermediate Sniper School

April 28-May 2, 2008

$800 ($650)CRA

Course Duration: 5 days

Course Location: Ventura & Ojai, California

Course Equipment: See List
600 rounds factory match ammunition,
Eyes and ear protection,
Scoped rifle with cleaning equipment,
Tripod, binoculars and rangefinders,
Flashlight and equipment for night problems.
Handgun with 50 rounds
Camping gear (we will have an option to camp several nights)

Curriculum

This Course Will Provide A Variety of Precision Rifle & Field Craft Techniques.

Classroom Day 1
Approximately 4 hours will be spent in the classroom. Subjects will include, but are not limited to: Orientation, Armorer check, Care & Cleaning, Fundamentals of marksmanship, Data Books, Zero options, Terms, Working with a partner.

Range Day 1
Approximately 4 hours will be spent at the range. Subjects will include, but are not limited to: Range safety, 100 yard zero from prone, Pre-firing checklists, Checklist for firing each shot Team work and communication & cleaning. Range

Range Day 2
Approximately 9 hours will be spent at the range. Subjects will include, but are not limited to: Range safety, Cold bore shot, Confirm 100 yard zero from prone, Slip knobs, Mechanical Zero count down, Shooter/Spotter teamwork, Scope repeatability test, Zero from bipod vs zero from pack, Confirm 100 zero & clean.

Range Day 3
Approximately 9 hours will be spent at the range. Subjects will include, but are not limited to: Range safety, Zero options, Zeros to 600 yards, Tripod support systems, Confirm Zero & clean.

Range Day 4
Approximately 9 hours will be spent at the range. Subjects will include, but are not limited to: Range Safety, Cold bore shot, Position shooting, On command shooting drills , Target identification drills, Moving target drills, Confirm zero & clean.

Range Day 5
Approximately 9 hours will be spent at the range. Subjects will include, but are not limited to: Range safety, Cold bore shot, Range cards, Target identification, Range estimation methods, Movement to FFP, Unknown distance shoot, Qualification course, Confirm 100 zero & clean.
