Dave Manning has been a “use of force” instructor for over 30 years. Over that time he has concentrated his efforts in combining lethal with non-lethal force options to law enforcement officers so that they have the skills needed in their service to the community.
 

He has recently retired as Senior Rangemaster and Chief Weapons and Tactics instructor for the Santa Paula Police Department, his responsibilities for the last 21 years included: Weapons and tactics training, range qualification and less lethal weapon training to all police officers. He has been on the SWAT Team for over 15 years and is responsible for all their weapons and tactics training.

 

Dave has been training in the martial arts for over 50 years. He holds several black belts and is currently studying IAIDO (Traditional Japanese Samurai Sword Martial Arts) and SHIN SHIN MUGENDO (Traditional Japanese Mixed Martial Arts).
 

He wrote and teaches a P.O.S.T “TRAIN THE TRAINER” Firearms Instructor Courses and has certified hundreds of POLICE firearms instructors across the state of California.
 

In 1994 he started the Tactical Firearms Training Institute as a formal training center for law enforcement and civilians. www.tacfire.com. He has been certifying people to carry concealed weapons for the Ventura County Sheriff for 25 years.
